About Joyce...
For the last 23 years I have seen prescription drugs, health insurance, and government healthcare grow more confusing and expensive. Too many patients are paying for products they shouldn’t be, missing benefits they’re entitled to, and are simply overwhelmed. Nearly everyone I come in contact with, including my mother, Nancy, has suffered sleepless nights worrying over Medicare choices. After guiding my mother and many patients through these decisions over the years and seeing the peace of mind they have achieved, JOYS Medical Navigation was born.
Over the course of my career I managed pharmacies in the long term care and retail sectors. I oversaw more than 1,000 patients in several nursing homes. As a clinical consultant I aimed to eliminate side effects, drug interactions, and unnecessary medications. My goal was to treat all the patients’ conditions with the minimum medication possible. I wanted them to be healthy, but not overmedicated. As a retail manager I saw many costly, unhealthy mistakes made out of a simple lack of understanding of insurance, especially Medicare, and the problems that arose from patients having multiple doctors each prescribing numerous medications. My experience taught me how to coordinate the doctors’ recommendations with the financial and physical needs of the patients. Acting as this ‘bridge’ between doctors and patients, I am able to merge both your health and financial needs.
My priority is to take the time necessary to fully understand your unique situation. Unfortunately, the reality today is that we have to be concerned with the affordability as well as the effectiveness of your medications, regardless of what kind of insurance you do or do not have. After we have taken all these factors into consideration, we can make the most informed choice...together!
